First, I need to say thank you for the opportunity, McSpocky, and for spotlighting so many of us in The Resistance. Your efforts shouldn’t go unnoticed.
I’ve spent my life all over the East coast pursuing various jobs, and battling many health issues. Born and raised — and now happily residing — in Southern WV, among the beautiful Appalachian mountains juxtaposed with pockets of unimaginable poverty. This is “The Heart of The Billion Dollar Coal Field”….. or it was. Coal is no longer king here, and the pockets of poverty have spread through entire towns. It’s a sad sight, forgotten by almost everyone, but the values instilled in me were family first and community second.
After more than two decades in NC, I put family first and returned to my aging mother. After a short adjustment period, Hillary Clinton came to town on 5/2/16 to confront the coal miners she had previously upset. I was invited to attend, along with about 95% of Trump supporters. That experience is etched into my memory, and has guided my steps ever since.
I moved from FB to Twitter in 2017, and met some fantastic people that familiarized me with The Resistance. I have not taken a single day off since. I enjoy meeting people in the movement, hearing everyone’s opinions, learning about important issues, and getting to know the people we all fight with everyday.
An issue that matters to me most is inclusion & expansion. I am quite isolated at home, so I — and many others — have focused on expanding The Resistance to include as many people in the movement as possible. Everyone’s voice is valuable, and deserves to be heard.
This is how we fight.
This is how we unite.
This is how we will win.
This is how we will stay strong.
WE MUST STAY UNITED!
